5 tips for quality sleep

Some of us eat healthy, exercise, surround ourselves with the right people, go to therapy, maintain an optimal work-life balance... but forget about sleep because everything else seems to be more effective for a happy life. However, it is exactly the opposite. Nothing resets us on a daily basis like sleep.

Whether we want to be good parents, run a business efficiently or feel healthy, sleep hygiene is an absolute foundation. Fortunately, it is not at all difficult to improve it a little.

1. Fall asleep in the perfect bedroom

Your bedroom environment affects both falling asleep and sleep itself. It is good to have a room around 20 °C, ventilate and have several indoor plants . The room should not be crowded or wildly painted, it should calm your mind rather than stimulate it.

For healthy sleep, also choose quality bedding - made of natural materials, in which you will not sweat unnecessarily and which will be gentle on your skin. For example, fine hypoallergenic linen is great.

2. Go to bed regularly

More important than observing eight hours of sleep a day is finding your own routine and going to bed and getting up regularly at a similar time . E.g. on weekends it is advisable to get up no more than an hour later than during the week.

3. Limit blue light before bed

For healthy sleep, we need the hormone melatonin, the formation of which is prevented by blue light. That's why it's important to turn off all screens no earlier than 60 minutes before bed , or wear special glasses that block blue light.

4. Have a light dinner

It is difficult to fall asleep with a full stomach and it even affects nightmares in some people. In addition, our body has to process heavy food instead of resting. When we feed our digestive system a lot of fat and protein for dinner, it's like giving our brain a difficult task to solve right before bed.

5. Calm your head

And demanding tasks and excessive stress are often the reason why we can't fall asleep. For some, it helps to write down what needs to be done the next day before going to bed, and thereby relieve at least some of the stress. You can also meditate, drink lemon balm tea, listen to 20 minutes of ambient music or a calm spoken word.

Extra fine linen bedding

Linen is a great investment with its strong fibers . The material, including the paint, will last for years in perfect condition. Among the other benefits of linen bedding are mainly thermal conductivity - cools in summer, warms in winter . In addition, the linen we use is incredibly soft thanks to a special softening process, we complement it with buttons made of the natural material Corrozo, and the bedding is produced in the Czech Republic.

Sheets made of 100% natural satin

ELKA LOUNGE satin bedding is so soft and abounds with a natural shine that it is hard to believe that it is made of natural material. It is 100% organic cotton and, like other sheets, the satin one is also made in the Czech Republic, complete with natural buttons and labels.
