Síla přirozenosti. Barbora Nosková o hledání krásy, odvaze a naslouchání sobě samé.

The Power of Naturalness. Model Barbora Nosková on finding beauty, courage, and listening to oneself.

There are people who naturally bring beauty into everything they touch. Barbora Nosková is one of them. You might know her as a model with refined taste, or as a food stylist who can turn food into visual poetry.

But her journey began much earlier. It was driven by a desire for change and a need for self realization. We talked with Bára about the elegant connection between the worlds of fashion and gastronomy, about the strength hidden in simplicity, and about the courage to create.

On the journey from the world of fashion, the refined detail, and the power in simplicity

On the journey from the world of fashion, the refined detail, and the power in simplicity Who are you and how would you describe your journey to what you do today? How was your passion for visual aesthetics born, from working with food to the world of fashion?

It's actually the other way around. I started modeling when I was 16. Working in fashion at a world level moved me forward a lot – it taught me to perceive beauty, detail, and aesthetics. I only got into food styling much later, after my children were born and modeling in the Czech Republic was no longer financially sufficient. Thanks to contacts in the media, I was able to move to the other side of the camera into a new field, which I still enjoy today.

Who or what has influenced you the most in your life?

I still feel a strong influence from my childhood, in both good and more challenging ways. The fact that I started working so early and left for the world stemmed from the need to change the environment I grew up in. Dance and working with horses taught me to overcome pain and discomfort. But I was most shaped by the nomadic life of a model, where success is based on hard work, independence, discipline, and professionalism at a young age. Recently, during the presentation of the BeCoat project by BeCharity, I was strongly impressed by the words of Liběna Rochová, who reminded me how important it is to listen to myself and, above all, to do what I internally feel is most essential.

What moments do you consider turning points in your career or life? When did you realize that your two passions – modeling and food styling – could connect beautifully?

I have already partially answered that, but the connection of modeling with food styling itself was a brilliant solution for me. Thanks to food photography, I could stay in the environment I love and use my experience from modeling without stepping into the roles of my colleagues – like makeup artists or photographers. It was a natural, elegant transition.

How would you describe your personal style – not just in clothing, but also in the aesthetics you create around you? Do you have a visual signature that appears both in photos and in your work with food?

In my personal style, I try to let naturalness and personality stand out. I choose simplicity that doesn't overpower, but highlights who I am. Sometimes, though, I'm in the mood for something bold, sexy, or romantic – it depends on the mood :) But in general, I prefer simplicity. My work is probably connected by the presence of a refined detail that gives the photo energy and strength.

What does clothing mean to you – is it an expression of personality, comfort, or rather part of a story you want to tell? How do you choose what to wear – intuitively, or with regard to visual harmony?

I have to feel comfortable in my clothes; I'm a relatively active person. At the same time, however, it must always match in some way and form a unified whole, even if it's just jeans, a T shirt, a sweater, and shoes. If something doesn't fit right, it distracts me all day :D I'll probably start telling stories with clothes when I'm an older lady who has something to say :)

What elements or colors best capture you? Is there a color palette or texture that accompanies you across your projects and personal style?

I like gray, brown, cream, and khaki – those are my certainties. Which doesn't mean I don't sometimes reach for a bold color or a more extravagant outfit when the situation calls for it. Colors are great when you know how to use them.

What dream do you have that is still waiting to be fulfilled? Is it your own project, a book, a visual series... or perhaps connecting gastronomy and fashion on a new level?

My big dream is to establish a foundation focused on awareness of psychological abuse and helping people – especially women – in difficult life situations. It's a topic that is still not talked about much here. . But first, I want to ensure my sons grow into independent adults. Then hopefully I'll get to it :)

What advice would you give to someone who admires you – and would like to follow a similar path? What should a person know before starting a job that combines beauty, precision, and creativity?

Such work requires not only talent but also a lot of practice. For a person to truly create what they imagine, they must overcome fear – because fear is what blocks creativity the most. You need to believe in yourself, be free, and constantly learn. The more you truly know how to do, the more your self confidence grows – and from that comes true creativity.

What three words best describe you?

Courage, healthy audacity, and gratitude.

The interview with Barbora is a reminder that beauty is not just about outward appearance, but about inner mindset. About overcoming the fear that hinders creativity, and about trust in one's own path.

Her three words, courage, healthy audacity, and gratitude, perfectly capture the energy she exudes. They are the signature of a woman who knows that the greatest strength lies in naturalness.
