Proč bychom měli věnovat pozornost minimalistickému šatníku?

Why should we pay attention to a minimalist wardrobe?

We have all desperately stared into our wardrobes at least once, wondering what to wear today.
A closet full of clothes, accessories, and shoes can quickly turn into a chaotic mess that offers many options but none that feel right. The solution to this common problem is the minimalist wardrobe, also known as a capsule wardrobe.

What is a minimalist wardrobe?

A minimalist wardrobe consists only of pieces you truly wear and that are easy to combine with each other. This approach is the opposite of chasing micro-trends or buying new clothes every week that you only wear once or twice.

The goal is to have a carefully selected set of clothes made from quality materials. In this case, it is worth investing in quality – well-made clothing will last for years, just like your wardrobe.

Where to start?

There are no strict rules for creating a minimalist wardrobe. Start by thinking about the clothes you actually want to wear, what suits your body type, and what makes you feel good. Look for inspiration, but don’t copy – everyone has their own style, and it might take time to discover what truly reflects yours.

The next step is to go through your existing wardrobe. Select only the items you absolutely love and can’t live without – those define your style. Then sort the rest by type to get a better overview of what you own. Now comes the decision-making: what to keep and what to let go. The total number of pieces is up to you, but people who follow the minimalist wardrobe concept agree that it should include 28 to 42 pieces. You can follow this guide:

  • 2 to 3 pairs of jeans
  • 2 to 3 pairs of pants, leggings, or sweatpants
  • 2 to 3 pairs of shorts
  • 1 to 2 skirts
  • 3 to 7 T-shirts or tank tops
  • 3 to 4 blouses or tops
  • 3 to 4 sweaters
  • 1 to 2 dresses
  • 1 to 3 blazers
  • 2 to 3 jackets or coats
  • 3 to 5 pairs of shoes
  • 2 to 3 belts
  • 2 to 3 handbags

The 3-3-3 method

This method teaches you how to make use of the clothes you already own. Choose only 33 items to wear over the next 3 months. Start by sorting all your clothes into three piles: keep, sell, and store. Pick 33 pieces from the "keep" pile that are appropriate for the current season and cover all your needs for the next three months. Sell the clothes you never wear and store the rest. You’ll be surprised how quickly you forget about most of them!

Try this method on holiday!

You don’t need to take a full suitcase of clothes on vacation. Just 9 items will be enough for 10 days. Pack 3 tops, 3 bottoms, and 3 pairs of shoes that can be mixed and matched. You’ll see how little you really need.

What to include in your wardrobe?

As mentioned earlier, the selection should reflect your personal style. But inspiration is always helpful, so here are some ideas.

A plain white T-shirt in a simple cut without heavy prints will never go out of style. You can wear it on its own or layer it with other pieces to create new outfits.

Organic cotton T-shirts

The most versatile piece – shirts!

Shirts are incredibly versatile. You can dress them up or down. We offer both linen and organic cotton versions in natural tones, making it easy to mix and match.
