Clothing made from natural materials is an investment in quality, comfort and a sustainable lifestyle. At ELKA LOUNGE we work with fabrics such as linen, bio cotton, micromodal or cotton satin, which you will love for their lightness, breathability and softness. To keep these pieces bringing you joy for many years they deserve care that highlights their natural beauty.
Laundry detergents that smell of nature
The foundation of proper care is choosing an ecological washing gel. Unlike traditional powders it does not contain aggressive chemicals or bleaches which protects not only natural fibers but also your skin and the environment. Thanks to this micromodal retains its softness, linen its strength and cotton satin its delicate shine.
When to wash and when fresh air is enough
Natural materials have a wonderful property, they can regenerate themselves in fresh air. Very often it is enough to simply hang the clothes instead of immediately turning on the washing machine. When washing is necessary follow these principles, maximum 40 °C, always inside out and with a low spin cycle. For delicate pieces made of micromodal or satin use a protective laundry bag, they will last much longer.
The sun is not their friend: Air drying
Forget the dryer. Hot air can shrink fibers and damage prints. The best option is drying in fresh air preferably in the shade and inside out. The sun dries quickly but in the long run it causes colors to fade. More delicate materials such as micromodal should be dried flat to stay smooth and without stretched seams.
Gentle ironing
Every fabric has different needs. Linen and cotton can withstand higher temperatures. Micromodal and satin require gentle steaming or lower heat. Avoid ironing prints, if necessary always iron inside out or through baking paper. And remember, small wrinkles in linen are part of its natural character which makes it authentic.
Extra tips for long life
Do not overload the washing machine, fibers remain in better condition that way. A smaller amount of detergent is often more effective and gentler. Avoid fabric softener because on natural fabrics it reduces absorbency and breathability.
Caring for natural materials is not complicated, it only requires some attention and the right habits. With gentle washing, drying and ironing your linen, organic cotton, micromodal and satin pieces will stay as beautiful as when you first wore them.
